Born in Bihar and raised across different corners of India—from the misty hills of Mussoorie to the academic grind of Kota, the cultural heart of West Bengal, and the cinematic pulse of Mumbai—Saurabh Suman grew up surrounded by diversity. Each place left its mark, shaping the way he saw the world and, unknowingly, preparing him for a life behind the lens.
His love for images started like it does for many—a simple curiosity, snapping pictures on his phone. But the turning point came when one of those casual shots ended up winning him an award from legendary photographer Raghu Rai.
This moment of fate redefined his path, transforming a casual interest into a serious pursuit of photography. He immersed himself in street photography in Kolkata, capturing raw emotions and untold stories through his lens. But his thirst for visual storytelling didn't stop there—it led him to the world of cinema.
Determined to master the craft, Saurabh joined the prestigious Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), where he refined his understanding of cinematography. Over the years, he has worked on feature films, web series, commercials, and short films, learning from industry stalwart Kiran Deohans. For Saurabh, cinematography is not just about creating beautiful frames—it’s about evoking emotions, telling meaningful stories, and continuously evolving as an artist. Every frame he captures is a testament to his deep connection with cinema and his unwavering passion for storytelling.
